At Mampong Harmony Foundation, our mission is to raise awareness and drive meaningful support for the Demonstration School for the Deaf in Mampong-Akuapem, Ghana. We are dedicated to creating inclusive opportunities where deaf and hard-of-hearing students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. By connecting communities, mobilizing resources, and advocating for accessibility, we strive to build a future where every deaf child is empowered to reach their full potential
Who We Are
Mampong Harmony Foundation is a purpose-driven nonpro t organization founded to support and uplift the Demonstration School for the Deaf (Demodeaf) in Mampong-Akuapem, Ghana. Rooted in a deep respect for the Deaf community, we aim to be a bridge between local needs and global compassion.
We are educators, advocates, families, and allies united by a common belief: that every child, regardless of hearing ability, deserves access to quality education, dignity, and opportunity. Through partnerships, storytelling, and grassroots engagement, we shine a light on the resilience and brilliance of the students and staff at Demodeaf—individuals who continue to inspire, persevere, and lead
What We Do
At Mampong Harmony Foundation, we take a holistic and hands-on approach to support. Our work is centered on these pillars
1. Awareness & Advocacy
We bring national and international attention to the overlooked realities faced by deaf students and educators in Ghana. Through media, campaigns, and storytelling, we challenge stigma, promote inclusion, and foster empathy in wider society
3. Educational & Community Development
We believe sustainable change comes from within. That’s why we invest in programs that strengthen local capacity-supporting teacher training, inclusive curriculum development, sign language education, and community workshops that elevate understanding and communication between Deaf and hearing individuals
2. Resource Mobilization
From water systems and hearing aids to teaching materials
and vocational tools, we respond to urgent needs by sourcing and distributing vital resources. We work in close coordination with the school to ensure that every donation directly improves students’ learning environments and well-being
4. Amplifying Deaf Voices
The heart of our work is to listen. We create platforms that uplift the voices of students, staff, alumni, and families—ensuring their stories, struggles, and successes are not only heard, but celebrated and acted upon
